Staff 1Mike Brecheen, Senior Pastor

Reared in a pastor's home, licensed to preach in 1971, ordained in 1975, Pastor Mike has served congregations in four states and brings to Fort White UMC a love for the Church and a fervent belief that God still believes in the Church and that His wonderful things are in store for it now and in the future.

Staff 1Mary Pergande

Mary serves many roles at FWUMC including Financial Secretary, Lay Leader, and choir member. Her background in both accounting and missionary work has equipped her to joyfully serve the church. Mary has attended FWUMC since 2006 and has been actively involved in many ministries.

Mary and her husband Jeff have three sons, and love living in the Three Rivers neighborhood of Fort White.

Staff 1 Lori Cole

Lori is our Church Secretary, a position that covers a wide range of duties and responsibilities. Lori also leads our Connectional Ministry, which helps keep in touch with and encourage shut-ins, hospital patients and folks in need. She helps coordinates our Food Pantry, school-based partnerships and hospital outreaches. As well as volunteering time at the church she also volunteers in the community. Lori is always glad to serve wherever she is needed.

Lori and her husband Sam have three daughters and have lived in Fort White since 1996. Lori has been a member of the United Methodist Church all of her life. She and her family joined Fort White UMC and few years ago.

Staff 1Mel Arnold

Mel returns to Fort White UMC as Minister of Music. Mel's musical talent and well known pianist skills bring joy and enthusiasm to our Worship Services.  Born in Kentucky, Mel's musical education began in church at the age of 12, and "Music has been good to me ever since." Mel received his Bachelors Degree at Florida Atlantic University and  Masters  Degree and doctoral studies at Florida State University.


Mel's music  teaching career spans over thirty years in public and private schools from pre-school through graduate school. Mel has also worked in Music Education and Music Therapy including psychiatric and geriatric applications. Also a songwrite/composer, Mel has written nearly 200 pieces and in 2001 released his first CD titled "All is Well".
