Fort White United Methodist Church
is a “come as you are” family nestled in the beautiful Three Rivers area in
north
We take the word “family” seriously and
everything we do, whether it be worship, providing ministries, reaching out
to everyone in need, or educating our children is guided by a vision
of being the “community’s church.”
Our Five Guiding Values are:
FAITH – Faith in God as
revealed in Jesus Christ is the
cornerstone of our worship. Faith in knowing that everyone can make a
difference is the foundation of our relationship with each other. God
has spoken to us in this place and faith acts as a solid cementing of our
gathering together to share life, learn, and pray for each other
ACCEPTANCE – There is a place
for everyone in our midst. We are a diverse group. We are young
families with children, retirees with children long grown, teenagers and
singles. We come from surrounding communities and from a variety of
social, spiritual, economic and racial groups. We are people with
little or no church background and we are people who have been active in
church all our lives. We believe in the inherent value of everyone.
COMMUNITY – As a believer in Christ, you are never alone; you are a citizen of the Kingdom of God. This is what Christ says we will be known by. Yet the Church has made a lot of people more alone, ashamed, or rejected. If that's you, you're not alone in feeling alone. And there really are Christians who will accept you, forgive you, perhaps even love you -- and not just a few, but many. We need you; we can't learn or change that part of us without you, we won't be whole without you.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH – Spiritual growth has
an opportunity to blossom and flourish at FWUMC, as we are all here to help
each other along the way. Bible studies, women’s and men’s groups,
children’s activities and weekly worship pave the way for seeking, for
questioning and for quietly finding answers. Personal growth
throughout life is celebrated by all of us.
SERVICE – We Are One Family.
Service to each other begins the minute you walk through our doors or make
the first phone call. Service to our community is on-going, helps us
bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to our neighbors and is tailored to fit
any culture. Service to the world is made possible by our commitment
to missions that enrich the lives of others while providing essential
components of life. Love has allowed us to develop a passion in our
members to meet the needs of others.
